Flextrus HiLite and NP materials

Thermoformable base webs for healthcare products

Flextrus HiLite and NP is a range of formable packaging materials that can serve as part of an integral healthcare pack. Different properties within this range include much more than just excellent formability. The range offers transparency, high barrier levels as well as tailor-made sealing features. Advanced wound care, syringes, gloves and catheters are a few examples of medical devices that are packed with our HiLite and NP range but they can be just as well suited for pharmaceutical and nutritional powders or personal care products.

Flextrus HiLite and NP materials are ideally matched and fully compatible with our wide range of Flexpeel® Paper and Flexpeel® Film products in forming, for instance, an integral sterile barrier system. Flextrus is ready to help you match the right product and on-pack design to cover your specific requirements.

APET: for transparency and medium-high barriers

  • Semi-rigid material produced from pure PET; recycled and virgin
  • Superior clarity
  • Medium-high gas barrier, while always very high bacterial barrier
  • Superior seal integrity from APET to APET fusion when combined with Flexpeel® Film PETAPET
  • Excellent capabilities on existing Form Fill & Seal machines
  • Suitable for gas (ETO) and/or radiation sterilisation

PETG: combining transparency, medium-high barriers and durability

  • Semi-rigid material
  • Superior clarity
  • High multi-purpose seal integrity
  • Medium-high gas and moisture barrier, while very high bacterial barrier
  • Excellent capabilities on existing Form Fill & Seal machines
  • Suitable for gas (ETO) and/or radiation sterilisation
  • Superior impact strength after ETO sterilisation

GAG: balancing transparency, medium-high barriers and durability

  • Semi-rigid material
  • Excellent clarity
  • Medium-high gas and moisture barrier, while very high bacterial barrier
  • Superior seal integrity from APET to APET fusion when combined with Flexpeel® Film PETAPET
  • Excellent capabilities on existing Form Fill & Seal machines
  • Suitable for gas (ETO) and/or radiation sterilisation

PAPE: soft packs with toughness using gas (ETO) and/or radiation sterilisation 

  • Good clarity
  • High multi-purpose seal integrity
  • Medium-high gas and moisture barrier, while very high bacterial barrier
  • Suitable for gas (ETO) and/or radiation sterilisation
  • Excellent capabilities on existing Form Fill & Seal machines
  • Suits high quality flexo printing and advanced graphic reproductions

PAPP: soft packs with toughness using steam sterilisation

  • Good clarity
  • High multi-purpose seal integrity
  • Medium-high gas and moisture barrier, while very high bacterial barrier
  • Suitable for steam sterilisation
  • Excellent capabilities on existing Form Fill & Seal machines
  • Suits high quality flexo printing and advanced graphic reproductions

All our materials are produced according to ISO 11607 part 1. We can support your needs for lab services, accurate documentation, including traceability reports as well as product technical data with clear specifications of material, inks, coatings, etc.
