Flextrus acquires Flexmed and expands its healthcare sector

Flextrus has acquired the Swedish packaging company Flexmed, strengthening its offering to customers within the healthcare sector. After the acquisition Flextrus has sales of 83 million euro and 280 employees.

Flexmed supplies flexible packaging materials to the healthcare sector, mainly in Europe. The company manufactures advanced barrier packaging based on paper, print and cold seal in a high quality and clean environment. The company has a turnover of 8 million euro and 30 employees.

Flextrus is one of the leaders in environmentally responsible flexible packaging in Northern Europe. The majority of its customers are in the food industry but it is also building significant business with other customers who have high demands in terms of performance and service. One such area is the healthcare sector where Flextrus, in cooperation with Flexmed, will have a strong offering to its customers, including a dedicated sales and support organisation.
